Naadia has played for us before with Jim Corry's quartet. This time she leads her own band. Naadia studied both jazz and classical music at the Guildhall school of music and drama where her teachers included Nikki Iles, Tim Garland and Scott Stroman. She has been teaching for several years herself, most recently at St. Pauls Girls' School in London. She has performed extensively with band's she has led and as a member of others both in the UK and abroad (including a recent trip to Hongkong).
Ben Martin last played at the GF fronting his own quartet last January. He's a terrific straight-ahead jazz sax player who really goes for it. He means everything he plays and doesn't just sit back and ride on clichés. His talents have also been exploited on the dance scene and he has recently been touring and recording with top charting dance act Groove Armada. He's played several times for Hulljazz over the last few years as part of Pat McCarthy's quartet.
