The 10th Avenue Jazz Band is fuelled with the same spirit that started jazz off all those years ago: musicians playing familiar songs with new interpretations. Hear Milenburg Joys played with a sixties rock feel, or Rhythm King as a gritty street beat. Cha-chas, Reggae, and even (gasp!) waltzes are standard fair for this band. Don't worry though, if straight Dixieland is your cup of tea, they do all that too.
Rollicking Turk Murphy, precise Bix Biederbecke and passionate Duke Ellington are all styles in the band's bag of tricks along with so much more. Whatever the style they'll roar through it with the energy of a rock band and the polish of symphony musicians. That's what the 10th Avenue Jazz Band is about: passion, energy, soulful blues, and sultry ballads.
This well-travelled band has played in Australia, China, England, Morocco, Canada, Scotland, Portugal, Norway, Russia, Spain and Italy. They're particular favourites at the annual Hull Jazz Festival which they've
