Rob Lavers Quartet

The Rob Lavers Quartet perform original music from their second album "Small Creature" (33 Records).
Band leader and composer Rob Lavers has been running the Quartet for four years. Early on in his career he gained runner up in the Young Jazz Musician of the Year and has since toured worldwide as a featured instrumentalist. His compositions are a reflection of the wide spectrum of styles that have shaped his music and are written specifically with the live performance in mind.
The group features pianist Jamil Sheriff, a successful bandleader, composer and accomplished improviser. He adds a fresh and dynamic sound to the Quartet.
Double bassist Jon Thorne is a versatile and gifted musician with "a sound to melt the soul ".His sensitivity and experience renders him essential to the group dynamic.
Drummer Laurent Robin lives and works in Paris. Laurent has worked with many notable world class musicians-Lee Konitz and Michel Petrucciani (to name but a few). He has a unique flamboyance and creativity on the drums. Don't miss him whilst he's in the U.K!!!
