The long-standing collaboration between Renato and Nicola goes back 15 years when they met at a gig in Italy. For this band they've teamed up with two of their countrymen to offer a mix of originals by Renato, Antonio, and Nicola plus beautifully re-arranged standards.
Renato DAiello is much acclaimed as one of the strongest and most original saxophone sounds around. He studied with masters such as Sal Nistico, Steve Grossman and Joe Henderson and has played with some of the jazz greats including Art Farmer, Sal Nistico, Steve Grossman, Eddie Duran, and Kirk Lightsey.
"Relaxed, unhurried but imbued with intense warmth tinged with poignancy... ...He showcases one of the most attractive and affecting tenor sounds in contemporary jazz. Recommended!" Chris Parker, Jazz CD review
"Renato is a superlative saxophonist with a passionate and poetic soul. He has all the virtues, a beautiful sense of time and pacing and a technique which effortlessly projects his brilliantly flowing ideas." Ian Carr - musician, jazz writer and biographer
