Steve Waterman, a seriously good British player, has a gorgeous sound and a burnished tone evocative of Kenny Wheeler. He began with the European Community Youth Jazz Orchestra and the National Youth Jazz Orchestra and since has worked regularly with John Surman, Andy Sheppard, Tony Coe, Carla Bley, Victor Mendoza, Mal Waldron, Graham Collier, Mike Garrick, and Don Weller. A magnificent player here keeping company with some of Europe’s finest.
